Speaking at the prize presentation ceremony, Ms. Cherry Tse Ling Kit Ching, Permanent Secretary for Education of the HKSAR, said that it is as important for students to reflect on as it is to understand historical contents, and that they should try to make the connections between personal and national destinies as well as the current state of international geopolitics.

Long an avid supporter of activities that promote Chinese cultural transmission, Dim Sum TV has this year continued its active involvement by taking part as one of the competition’s supporting organizations. Ms. Ceci Chuang, Vice-President of Dim Sum TV, was present at the event to present prizes to the student winners and encourage them to keep up their efforts in their study of Chinese history and culture.

On the historic occasion of the 65th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China, an event that kindles young people’s curiosity about the past, present and future of the country takes on special meaning. Indeed, the contest helped stimulate a resurgence of interest in Chinese studies not just among students but the general public as well.
