The 2015 Top Ten Issues of the HKSAR Governance Selected with Livelihood Matters Being the Public Top Concern
In 15 Feb, the Ceremony on the Selection of 2015 Top Ten Issues of the HKSAR Governance was held at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre.
The honorable guests being invited to officiate the ceremony include Mr. C.Y. Leung, Chief Executive of the HKSAR; Mr. Yang Jian, Deputy Director-General of the Liaison Office of the Central People’s Government in the HKSAR; Mr Gregory SO Kam-leung, Secretary for Commerce & Economic Development; Mr. Patrick Nip Tak-kuen, Director of the Information Services Department; Mr. Li Haitang, Deputy Director General of Publicity, Culture and Sports Department of the Liaison Office of the Central People’s Government in the Hong Kong SAR; and Mr. Augustine WONG Ho-ming, Executive Director of Henderson Land Group. Moreover, the Chairman of Hong Kong Ta Kung Wen Wei Media Group Mr Jiang Zaizhong delivered a speech on behalf of the organizations of the event.
The Selection of the Top Ten Issues of the HKSAR Governance has been co-organized by media organizations and assisted by other organizations. It also received support from the business community and this year, the Henderson Land Group continuous to be the event’s sole sponsor six years in a row .

Mr. Yang Jian, Deputy Director-General of the Liaison Office of the Central People’s Government in the HKSAR and Mr Kit Szeto meet each other cheerfully in this Spring Festival.
The selection activity started on 1 Dec 2015 and since then, the public has selected the ten most influential issues or issues they care most in the HKSAR governance. They put forward their selections through websites, mailing and fax.
In his speech, Chairman of Hong Kong Ta Kung Wen Wei Media Group Mr. Jiang Zaizhong pointed out that the results of the selection in 2015 were dominated by livelihood issues, with the incident of lead in drinking water in public housing estates ranking the top, followed by people selling parallel goods massively and the issue of one incinerator and three landfill sites for wastes management resolved. The ten selected issues ultimately show that members of the public are pragmatic and placing the biggest concern a livelihood issues.

In the ceremony, the officiating guests and representatives from the major media organizations also present awards to the winners. Mr Kit Szeto , Director & CEO of Dim Sum TV, together with Ms Yolanda Chen,Director of Public Relations of Phoenix TV and Ms Bianca Ma, Managing Director of Metro Finance & Metro Finance Digital asserted an award to Pui Ching Middle School, one of the schools being the most active in participating in the selection activity .

The Selection of 2015 Top Ten Issues of the HKSAR Governance is organized by 26 major media organizations including Dim Sum TV and co-organized by 66 other organizations. The event has been its 18th year since its inception. The school sector this year shows increased participation in in the event than in previous years, with 121 secondary schools and 9 universities joining the fun.
