Guizhou has been performing very well in economic development in recent years. Since 2015, its aggregate economic volume has surpassed RMB1 trillion. Its economic and social development has been moving into the fast lane. Its speed of economic growth has for some time been among the top three among provinces during the Twelfth Five Year Plan. All these data shows that Guizhou Province has good potential in economic development.

For cooperation and exchanges between Guizhou and Hong Kong, Mr Lu said that both places are part of the Pan-Pearl River Delta Region, and following the launch of the Guizhou-Guangzhou Super Highway, the linkage between the two places will make them closer to each other. According to Mr Lu, Hong Kong as an international financial and trade hub as well as a maritime centre is not only the most vibrant city in Asia, but is also an important platform for helping the Mainland enterprises to extend their business overseas. Mr Lu said that in the future Guizhou can provide Hong Kong with high-quality fruits and vegetables while Hong Kong can assist Guizhou with capital, talents and technology, so that a collaboration model of benefiting each other with each other’s advantages could be created.
