With the opening of the Guangzhou-Shenzhen-Hong Kong Express Rail Link and the Hong Kong – Zhuhai - Macao Bridge, and the announcement of the “Outline Development Plan for the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area”, the cooperation between Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao will be further promoted. Hong Kong Televisioners Association (HKTVA) believes that Hong Kong’s known "Eastern Hollywood" advantage can enable its film and television elites to share their years of valuable experience in management, financing and creativity with their Guangdong and Macau peer.

Mr. Tsui Siu Ming, Chairman of HKTVA, said at the event that even though the television and film industry in Hong Kong is quite developed, the industry has experienced serious setbacks in recent years. Therefore, the forum focused on discussing how to integrate film and television investors into the Greater Bay Area. Mr. Tsui admitted that there is no actual plan for implementation yet. It is a rare opportunity though to gather local and the Mainland television and film industry elites to discuss the issues, hoping that both industries can take this opportunity to blossom again.

Mr. Kit Szeto, Director and CEO of Dim Sum TV, was invited to speak onstage during the forum. He said that the Greater Bay Area will provide more new development opportunities by combining the resources of the three territories in the Area. Each city in the Area has its own strengths and weaknesses. With the combined strengths, we can solve problems from the original shortcomings. The film and television industry and the media practitioners are responsible for communicating the new developments and information to the residents of the Greater Bay Area, and making them realize that there are new possibilities. The Central Government is striving to lower the cross border threshold for the people of Hong Kong, making it easier for everyone to live and work across the Greater Bay Area as a whole.
