The Fourth PAN-PRD Regional Cooperation
and
Development Forum—Chief Executive News Conference
“PAN-PRD Regions”, abbreviated as “9 plus 2 regions”, including 9 provinces of Fujian, Jiangxi, Hunan, Guangdong, Guangxi, Hainan, Sichuan, Guizhou, Yunnan, and 2 special administration regions of Hong Kong and Macau, are the biggest regional combinations in Mainland China governed by different political structures. During the forum, a joint meeting of the Chief Executives of the “9 plus 2 regions”, a regional Mayors’ forum, a promotional meeting of PAN-PRD Regions and a Chief Executives’ press conference were all held. The Fourth PAN-PRD Regional Cooperation and Development Forum—Chief Executive News Conference, conducted at Vaga Hotel in Changsha, Hunan on 9th June 2007, attracted over 1,000 media groups.

On 10th June, Mr. Huang Huahua, the Governor of Guangdong Province, met the Chief Executive of HKSAR, Mr. Donald Tsang Yam-kuen in Changsha. Mr. Tsang indicated that, the co-operation of PAN-PRD regions has broadened the spectrum of Hong Kong’s development and the regions have a strong growth momentum. He added that Hong Kong has actively taken part in the co-operation, especially that with Guangdong province. On the other hand, Mr. Huang Huahua remarked that the co-operation among Hong Kong, Macau and Guangdong is the core strength for PAN-PRD regions’ development, and the active participation of Hong Kong serves as an important driving force.
On 10th June, before the forum started at Vaga Hotel, the reporter from Dim Sum TV met the Deputy Secretary, General of the People’s Government of Guangdong province,P.R. of China,Mr. Xu Shangwu and Director, General of Hong Kong and Macau Affairs office of Guangdong Provice, Mr. Tang Hao. Secretary Xu Shangwu expressed his interest to visit Dim Sum TV after our reporter introduced the company to him.
