Report on Cooperation and Development of Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macau published

In the afternoon of February 13, the Forum on Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau Cooperation, jointly organized by the Council for the Promotion of Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Cooperation, the China Academy of Culture, the Federation of Hong Kong And Guangdong Community Organizations, and the One Country Two Systems Research Center, was held to mark the publication of the Report on Cooperation and Development of Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macau.

Guest speakers at the event included: Mr. Liao Jingshan, Director of the Hong Kong and Macao Affairs Office of the People’s Government of Guangdong Province; Mr. Lan Huasheng, Executive Director of the China Academy of Culture; Mr. Huo Zhenyu, Vice-Chairman of the Federation of Hong Kong And Guangdong Community Organizations. In his speech, Mr. Liao expressed his hope that the publication of the Report on Cooperation and Development of Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macau will provide new directions for intra-regional exchanges in the future and help identify new modes of trilateral cooperation.

For the forum, a panel of mainland and overseas scholars representing various academic disciplines explored “Deepening Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau Cooperation and the Future of the Free Trade Zone” within three different contexts: historical background, competitive advantages and disadvantages, and new modes of cooperation. The discussion attracted a turnout of over 200 people, including Mr. Kit Szeto, Director & CEO of Dim Sum TV and Vice-Chairman of the Council for the Promotion of Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau Cooperation, who attended the event at the hosts’ invitation.

The audience was treated to a lively debate marked by witty and insightful exchanges between the panel speakers. Dim Sum TV has learned that the Report on Cooperation and Development of Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macau presents an detailed analysis of trilateral cooperation as well as a systematic introduction to the history, protocols and areas of focus of joint development efforts. The breath and depth of the report make it a veritable encyclopedia on the subject .
