Mr Chenbin,Senior Vice President of DMG Media from China started the discussion at the Forum with a short film showing the kinds of film and TV programmes DMG has participated in. He pointed out that at a time when more and more cross-border collaborations would be emerging, how to explore characteristics of different cultures and hence create well-received stories was something the fellow professionals in the industry had to think about for the future.

Mr Rezal A. Rahman, Chief Executive Officer of Pinewood Iskandar Malaysia Studios, introduced to the guests numerous unique filming locations in Malaysia, good facilities for film production and the relatively low cost for film and TV production in the country. He hoped that all these could attract more film crews to Malaysia for filming. Prof. Giovanni Robbinano, Head of FAMU International of FAMU in Prague (A film and TV school of the Academy of performing arts in Prague), said with a smile that he was deeply impressed by the diligence and earnestness of those Chinese students studying film in FAMU. He believed that joint cooperation in film making was a major trend and hoped to see that more and more cross-country collaborations in this aspect could be fostered in the future.

Starting from 2007, the TV World has been inviting leading figures, relevant academics and experts from the film and TV industry to gather at the event each year so as to provide people who are enthusiastic about the industry with valuable information and consultation regarding the sector. The event has now become the industry’s grand occasion taken place once a year.
