“Coming Home—A Story of the Overseas Chinese Museum in Jiangmen”
takes the prize as the best documentary
at the Guangdong Television’s media event “Documenting Jiangmen.”

On November 6, 2007, Dim Sum TV was invited to participate in an extensive reporting event “Documenting Jiangmen”, organized by The Information Office of the People’s Government of Guangdong, the Guangdong TV Artistes’ Association, and Guangdong Television, in association with the Publicity Department of the Municipal Party Committee of Jiangmen and Jiangmen Television. “Coming Home—A Story of the Overseas Chinese Museum in Jiangmen” shot by Dim Sum TV won an award in the best documentary category for the event.

Dim Sum TV was one of the only two media from outside China invited to participate in the event. And it was the first time for Dim Sum TV covering such reporting. “Coming Home—A Story of the Overseas Chinese Museum in Jiangmen” was produced with a narrative over 2 storylines, by our crew of Hong Kong, Taiwan and the Mainland professionals. One of the storylines was about the academics and contemporary Overseas Chinese descendents’ feelings towards the history and deeds of their predecessors; and the other one was based on real letters found in the Overseas Chinese Museum. It was written about an Overseas Chineses’ dream of “coming home,” and how they felt for their homeland and their families there.
