Opening Ceremony of the voting campaign on the 10 best governance news stories capturing Hong Kong special administrative region government’s governance
The opening ceremony of the voting campaign on the 10 best governance news stories co-hosted by 24 media groups was launched at the Hong Kong Cultural Centre Piazza on 19 December 2017.

Mr. Hai Tang Lee, Department of Publicity, Cultural and Sports Affairs, The Liaison Office of the Central People’s Government in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region were officiating guests of the opening ceremony.
Joe Wong Chi-cho, director of Information Services Department who attended the launching ceremony, said in the past 20 years the voting has given Hong Kong people opportunities to be part of the government, monitoring its systematization and policymaking.
Meanwhile, the government has managed to collect valuable public opinions through the selection results each year, helping to tailor-make policies that best reflect Hong Kong people’s interests.

Ouyang Xiaoqing, general manager of Ta Kung Wen Wei Media Group, said each of the 20 participating works illustrated the life of Hong Kong people, the relationship between Hong Kong and the mainland, and the long-term development of the city. Being one of the hosts of the voting campaign, Ouyang promised to show his continuous support and to walk along with Hong Kong citizens.

Officiating guests encouraged citizens to vote on the voting website (top10.wenweipo.com) for the news coverage that best captured the special administrative region government’s governance this year, as the annual city-wide voting campaign for Hong Kong’s top news on governance. The deadline for the voting is 14 January 2018 while results will come out on 18 January 2018.
