RTHK’s Lunar New Year Celebration for the Year of the Dog and 90 Years of Broadcasting in Hong Kong

On 27 February, Radio Television Hong Kong (RTHK) invited local major media to RTHK’s Lunar New Year Celebration for the Year of the Dog and 90 Years of Broadcasting of RTHK in Hong Kong. Mr. Kit Szeto, Director & CEO of Dim Sum TV, attended the event to share the happiness with the other guests.

Traditional drum performance by 16 students from Shanghai Alumni Primary School commenced the celebration of the Year of the Dog and “RTHK’s 90 years of Broadcasting in Hong Kong”.

Mr. Edward Yau, Secretary for Commerce and Economic Development and Mr. Ka-wing Leung, Director of Broadcasting officiated the kick-off ceremony for the Year of the Dog and “RTHK’s 90 Years of Broadcasting in Hong Kong” after their speeches. They hosted the ribbon-tying and eye-dotting ceremonies, expressing wishes for good fortune.

Mr. Kit Szeto wished everyone a happy and prosperous Year of the Dog. He pointed out that through multi-media platforms, audiences can sort out programmes and information from around the world instantaneously. Therefore, Hong Kong media companies must follow the trend to provide more dynamic ideas through programmes for the audiences in order to be competitive.
