Dim Sum TV reports on the 2008 New Cantonese Entrepreneurs Convention

On May 27th, the 2008 New Cantonese Entrepreneurs Convention was held at the Guangzhou Baiyun International Convention Centre – and Dim Sum TV was there covering this landmark event. Over 1,000 prosperous new Cantonese entrepreneurs met at the convention to discuss the success of the reforms and increasingly open attitude of the Guangdong government. Also on the agenda were discussions about how to better coordinate Guangdong Province with the Hong Kong and Macau Special Administrative Regions, and how to generally improve the international standards of the region.

The convention was jointly organized by the Guangdong General Chamber of Commerce, the Economic and Trade Commission of Guangdong Province, the Yangcheng Evening News Group, and the Southern Media Corporation, and over 1,000 Guangdong representatives, both locals and returnees from overseas, attended the event. The Secretary of CPC Guangdong Committee, Wang Yang, and Governor of the Guangdong Province, Huang Huaha and other provincial leaders were in attendance, with the latter making an important address to the during the opening ceremony. Dim Sum TV’s reporters and photographers Lin Wei-ping, Jiang Zhong-sing and Zhang Wen-di covered the event.
