Mr. Mo Gaoyi, Director of the Information Office of
the People’s Government of Guangdong Province, visits Dim Sum TV

On June 2, 2011, the Deputy Director of the Publicity Department, Guangdong Provincial Committee of the Communist Party of China and Director of the Information Office of the People’s Government of Guangdong Province, Mr. Mo Gaoyi, and his team visited Dim Sum TV. After the tour, Mr. Mo was very positive in his assessment of the work Dim Sum TV has been doing over the years in bringing the new Guangdong to audiences in Hong Kong and southern China.

Mr. Kit Szeto, Director & Chief Executive Officer of Dim Sum TV, and Mr. Zhang Huijian, President of Southern Media Corporation, Dim Sum’s media partner in Guangdong, were on hand to welcome the visitors.

Mr. Mo said that he has been closely following the growth of Dim Sum TV ever since the launch of the network 4 years ago. The network’s productions, such as last year’s Delta Missions, and this year’s upcoming new series, @ Home in Green Guangdong, are both examples of topical, quality programming.

Mr. Mo said that the positioning of Dim Sum TV is entirely compatible with the national development strategy. According to Chapter 57 of the 12th National Five-Year Plan: Maintaining the long-term prosperity and stability of Hong Kong and Macao, Hong Kong-Guangdong cooperation is vital to the development of a competitive, world-class metropolitan cluster. With the stepping up of Hong Kong-Guangdong collaboration, a common broadcasting platform like Dim Sum TV that promotes cross-border information sharing is exactly what the region needs.

Mr. Mo also noted Dim Sum TV’s participation in many of Hong Kong’s public activities, and suggested that the network also plays a more active role in Guangdong’s community life. He believed that, by doing so, Dim Sum TV would be able to establish a strong, enduring presence in Guangdong communities and raise its brand’s profile.
