For the day’s entertainment, a cast of over 1,000 young performers from 7 organizations was assembled. The varied and colorful program included the Yuen Long Merchants Association Secondary School marching band giving a rousing rendition of the event’s theme song, Believe In Our Dream, parade drills by youth corps from Hong Kong, Thailand and Malaysia, a special dance performance by Dreams Set Sail, martial arts and taekwondo demonstrations by the Hong Kong Chido Association. The rain did little to dampen the spirits of the performers, who made a splash by waving flags and churning the water on the ground into a frenzied aquatic spectacle, drawing long and excited applause from the audience.
