Newly Established Hong Kong Cultural and
Educational Exchange Association To Build Platform
For Promoting Communication and Accord

On September 27, the Hong Kong Cultural and Educational Exchange Association was formally established. The organization’s mandate is to help focus the energies and efforts of Guangdong and Hong Kong and, through a variety of activities, promote Chinese culture and education.

One of the activities that marked the founding of the association was the ribbon-cutting ceremony for a cultural event in the early evening of September 27. Mrs. Cherry Tse, Permanent Secretary for Education, performed the ribbon-cutting ceremony for the Ink, Brush and Strings Music Exhibition, where a number of famed calligraphers and painters were on hand to demonstrate their artistic skills. Mr. Kit Szeto, Director & CEO of Dim Sum TV, attended the event to give his support.

Ms. Chu Lien-fan, Chairwoman of the Hong Kong Cultural & Educational Exchange Association, said in her welcome speech that culture is the soul of a nation, and education is the root of national revival. Her belief in the importance of the exchange of ideas led her to call for the establishment of the Hong Kong Cultural and Educational Exchange Association. The organization will provide a platform for interaction between like-minded people from diverse backgrounds – industry, business, cultural enterprises, education, as well as professionals – who share a love of the motherland, Hong Kong, culture and education. Through collaboration and exchanges, the association aims not only to promote cultural learning and education, but also to foster a deeper understanding of the motherland and Chinese culture.
