The competition encompasses all aspects of China current affairs, culture and general knowledge, and pitted 5 contestants against each other in each of 3 divisions. The university division showdown, marked by the concentration and poise of the finalists, culminated in a hotly contested buzzer round that prompted rounds of applause from the audience.

There was drama at the end of the primary school division final. In the buzzer round, one of the answers judged to be correct was contested by another finalist. An impromptu meeting of the panel of judges was convened, and Teng Shi Parn was eventually declared the winner, catapulting the little contestant from heartbreak to jubilation. After the event, he said he’d learned a lot during the competition and hoped to participate again in the future.

The respective winners in the university, secondary and primary school divisions are Chung Kin Man of the Chinese University of Hong Kong, Lui Chun Tak of the Tung Wah Group of Hospitals Wong Fut Nam College and Teng Shi Parn of Shatin Government Primary School.
