“Passion and Dreams of China”
Exhibition Chronicles China’s Century-Long
Journey to the Top.

On June 22, the “Passion and Dreams of China” Exhibition Opening Ceremony and 16th Anniversary Celebration of Hong Kong’s Reunification with China Cocktail Reception was held at the Hong Kong Central Library. The exhibition brought together a large number of valuable artifacts, first-hand accounts and historical objects to provide a vivid retrospective on a century of change and transformation. It was also supplemented by celebrity seminars that collectively retrace the 170-year journey that took China from national crisis to international resurgence. These events aimed at instilling a more thoughtful, deeper understanding of the China Dream in Hong Kong’s young generation.

They were joined by over 1,000 community leaders and leading figures of Hong Kong society, including Mr. Kit Szeto, Director & CEO of Dim Sum TV.

The welcome speech was delivered by Dr. Tai Tak Fung, Member of the National CPPCC and President of the Hong Kong CPPCC (Provincial) Members Association. Dr. Tai said that the exhibition was held to add impetus to the pursuit of the China Dream proposed by President Xi Jinping, underline the One Country, Two Systems principle, and promote solidarity among the Chinese people as they continue to move onward and upward. He also articulated the China’s Dream concept as the sum of the “rise of the country, strength of the nation, well-being of the people.” He urged the people of Hong Kong to remain united in upholding the stability and prosperity of the city, and contribute to the grand revival of the Chinese nation.

The “Passion and Dreams of China” exhibition was a joint project by the Hong Kong Culture Association, the Chinese General Chamber of Commerce, the Friends of Hong Kong Association, the Hong Kong Federation of Overseas Chinese Associations, the Hong Kong CPPCC (Provincial) Members Association and the Federation of Hong Kong Guangdong Community Organizations. Over 100 community organizations and prominent individuals assisted in the organization of the event.
