Speaking at the reception, Mr. Alan Chu, Director of the GDETO, said that the past year has been a fruitful one for Guangdong-Hong Kong cooperation. No only has marked progress been made in such areas of cooperation as finance and professional services, but joint efforts in civic affairs, environmental protection, etc., are also gathering fresh momentum. In the year ahead, the GDETO will continue to be active in complementing the mainland’s policy of “bring in, step out”. It will encourage capable entrepreneurs to invest and grow their businesses in Hong Kong, and use the platform provided by the city as a launchpad for overseas expansion. At the same time, many experienced consulting firms in Hong Kong can also benefit by providing professional consulting services to foreign companies looking to enter the China market.
