Wen Wei Po Celebrates 65 Years of Serving A Nation with Knowledge and Words.

A cocktail reception was held on September 9, 2013 at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre to commemorate the 65th anniversary of the founding of Wen Wei Po. Over 1,000 guests were invited to the event to mark the occasion. Among them was Mr. Kit Szeto, Director & CEO of Dim Sum TV.

For the occasion, President Xi Jinping sent a special message to Wen Wei Po in which he congratulated the newspaper on its “outstanding achievements”. President Xi also exhorted the publication to “make an even greater contribution to the long-term prosperity and stability of Hong Kong, and to the Chinese Dream of a grand national revival.” Speaking on behalf of the newspaper, Mr. Wang Shucheng, Chairman and President of Wen Wei Po, said that the publication now stands poised to open a new chapter in its history. In the future as in the past, it will continue to “rally the people with words, build the nation with knowledge”. Ever mindful of its journalistic responsibility and informed by a progressive spirit, Wen Wei Po remains at the service of Hong Kong’s and the motherland’s future.

Over 1,000 guests from different sectors and industries attended Wen Wei Po’s 65th anniversary celebrations to revisit the past and look to the future.
