The Hong Kong Compatriots’ celebration of the founding of the Preparatory Committee for National Day Two nights of jubilant National Day celebration

The Preparatory Committee of Hong Kong Compatriots in celebration of the 68th Anniversary of the Founding of the People’s Republic of China (referred to as "the Preparatory Committee") was launched in the afternoon of August 9 at the auditorium of the Chinese General Chamber of Commerce, Hong Kong, with 700 participants from 20 different sectors invited to become the Members of the Preparatory Committee.

Nearly 100 members of the Preparatory Committee attended the ceremony of the founding of the Preparatory Committee, presided by the Executive Chairman Tung Chee-hwa. The meeting confirmed this year’s title of the Preparatory Committee as "The Preparatory Committee of Hong Kong Compatriots in celebration of the 68th Anniversary of the Founding of the People’s Republic of China”, and approved the candidates list of the Honorary Chairman, Chairman, the Consultants, members and vice chairman of various sub divisions.

Dr. Jonathan Choi, the Deputy Secretary General of the Preparatory Committee, expressed that the Preparatory Committee will hold two performances this year at the Hong Kong Coliseum to celebrate the National Day, including “The 68th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China art and cultural evening” at 7 pm on October 1 (Sunday) and “The 68th Anniversary of the Founding of the People’s Republic of China Youth Concert" at 8 pm on October 2 (Monday).

The first celebration will revolve around the theme of "building the Chinese dream", present through a variety of artistic performances, including music, dance and singing performances to express the joy of the achievements of the motherland, and with combined effort build a better Chinese dream in the future. The Youth Concert on the second night will combine the popular elements from the shows in the previous years with a trendy and youthful vibe, to celebrate the National Day with the youth.

The two performances will be broadcast on Hong Kong and foreign television stations, radio and streaming websites. Dim Sum TV will be involved in the broadcast of these two performances to share the joy of the National Day with the Hong Kong audience.
