Sichuan•Hong Kong•Macao Cooperation Week Sichuan Promotion Conference Initiated In Hong Kong

The Sichuan•Hong Kong•Macao Cooperation Week took place in Hong Kong and Macao from 21st to 25th August. In Hong Kong, Sichuan government hosted a total of 9 events, covering aspects of trade, culture and tourism.

On the morning of 22nd August, Sichuan•Hong Kong•Macao Cooperation Week Sichuan Promotion Conference on International Cooperation Under the Belt and Road Initiative was held in Hong Kong. The conference invited over 400 distinguished guests including HKSAR government officials, representatives of the Liaison Office of the Central People’s Government and foreign consulates in the HKSAR, leaders from corporations and chambers of commerce from Hong Kong and Sichuan, as well as media representatives. Mr. Leung Chun-ying, Vice Chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference, and Mr. Yin Li, Vice Secretary of Sichuan Provincial Committee of the CPC and Governor of Sichuan Provincial People’s Government, delivered a speech respectively.

With the theme of “Great Opportunities to be Discovered in China (Sichuan) Pilot Free Trade Zone", Sichuan Promotion Conference introduced the emerging opportunities of the national central city Chengdu and China (Sichuan) Pilot Free Trade Zone, while signing off a series of projects with mutual investment and trade cooperation between Sichuan and Hong Kong.

A total of 26 projects with bilateral investment and trade cooperation between Sichuan and Hong Kong have been signed on the conference with the contract volumes of 20.4 billion US dollars covering a variety of fields such as comprehensive development, agriculture, cultural tourism, health care, manufacturing, education, finance, energy and so on. Other deals included 3 overseas investment projects on finance and energy industries with a total amount of 1.5 billion US dollars, as well as 6 trade projects amounted to 0.6 billion US dollars on aviation finance and leasing, supplies of agricultural products to Hong Kong and exports of therapeutic beverages.
