Celebration of the 20th Anniversary of Hong Kong’s return to the motherland - Masters Art Exhibition Welcome Dinner cum Auction

Upon the invitation of the Hong Kong SAR, Mr. Sheng Huaijie, Chairman of the Chinese Painting and Calligraphy Research Association, the Secretary General of Huaxia Dongfang Jie painting and calligraphy and the Chinese Art Association, a first-class artist, brought over 100 pieces of artwork for the exhibition in the Hong Kong Central Library between 12th to 14th of September.

On the evening of 12th of September, "Celebrate Hong Kong’s return to the 20th anniversary of the motherland art exhibition welcome dinner cum auction" was held at the Regal Hotel in Hong Kong. Mr. Tsang Hin Chi, member of the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress and Chairmain of the Goldlion Group, Mr. Liu Zhiming, Deputy Inspector of the Central Government Liaison Office in Hong Kong, Mr. Ma Fung Kwok, a former HKSAR Deputy to the National People’s Congress and Chairman of the Hong Kong Arts Development Council, the famous artist Mr. Guo Gongda and Mr. Zhang Song attended the opening ceremony and celebration. During the auction, Mr. Tang Ching Ho, JP and member of the CPPCC, brought the evening to a climax with the highest bid price of 1.2 million on Mr. Sheng Huaijie’s painting "The Purple Yunshan".

Mr. Sheng Huaijie’s works promote the Chinese culture, is updated yet classic, innovative and unique. On the eve of the auction, the two fine paintings were subscribed by Mr. Tsang Hin Chi, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Goldlion Group, and Mr. Hui Chi Ming, Chairman of Sino Union Petroleum and Chemical International Limited, respectively, at HK $ 10 million. Mr. Sheng Huaijie hoped to use culture and art to gather the hearts of charity and fulfill the roles of social responsibility, as well as to promote the public welfare projects in the Mainland. As a token of contribution, the subscription would be donated to the Chinese mainland public welfare undertakings after the exhibition.

The organizers and the artists represented by Sheng Huaijie chose Hong Kong for this exhibition not merely to celebrate and bless Hong Kong compatriots in the form of culture and art, but it also served as an art exchange event, so that the style of art innovation in the new era of artists in the Mainland can be observed. Innovation and heritage can intersect in the form of art when Hong Kong and Mainland artists come together.
