Ningbo-Hong Kong Economic Co-operation Forum 2017
Ningbo-Hong Kong Economic Cooperation Forum press conference was held on 26th September, 2017 at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Center. Mr. Li Ke, Deputy Director of Ningbo Municipal Party Committee Promotion Department and Director of the Press Office, Mr. Yan Weiguo, Deputy Secretary-General of Ningbo Municipal Government, Ms. Winsome Chan, Senior Manager International and Mainland Relations of Hong Kong Trade Development Council, Mr. Zhao Jun, Deputy Director of Ningbo Municipal People’s Government Overseas Chinese Affairs Office, attended the press conference. They introduced to the media the exchange and cooperation situation between Ningbo and Hong Kong and 2017 Ningbo-Hong Kong Economic Cooperation Forum.

According to Mr. Yan Weiguo, Deputy Secretary- General of Ningbo Municipal Government, the 2017 Ningbo-Hong Kong Economic Cooperation Forum would be held in Hong Kong from 26th to 28th of September this year. Since its inception, the forum had been held annually in Ningbo or Hong Kong. This year was the forum’s sixteenth year and its eighth time in Hong Kong. The success of the previous forum had effectively promoted the multi-sectors and deep cooperation between Ningbo and Hong Kong, and had been widely recognized. Thus, it had become the most important platform for exchanges and cooperation between Ningbo and Hong Kong.
The main activities of this year’s forum comprised the opening ceremony and five special events, including the Ningbo National Insurance Innovation Comprehensive Experimental Zone Seminar, 2017 Ningbo Metropolitan Tour Hong Kong and Macao Promotion Week, 2017 Ningbo Hong Kong Youth Entrepreneurs Summit, 2017 Ningbo Hong Kong students cross-border exchange, highly intelligent training activities introduced from Ningbo. In addition, an oil painting exhibition titled "The Famous Oriental Pearl City" was held this year, showcasing oil painting works by reputable Chinese artists. Through the "Painting Hong Kong" and "Overseas Chinese Ningbo" exhibits, these famous works showed the history of Ningbo and Hong Kong, reconstructing the ties of economic and trade exchanges between these two places.
The forum this year would revolve around the theme of "deepening cooperation and integrated development", with economic cooperation as the main focus, concentrating on the “One Belt One Road” construction, boosting the construction of Ningbo’s "famous cities", and to enhance the port logistics, finance and insurance, International trade, science and education and other areas in both cities, promoting mutually beneficial and win-win development in Ningbo and Hong Kong.
