The recruitment of the outstanding young artists through the event "When Art Knocks on the Door" aims to support young artists in China, promote the artistic exchanges between Hong Kong and the Mainland, and infuse art into people’s daily lives. Since March this year, the “Recruitment event” had received a total of 1,028 high-quality works of art from eight well-known art institutes in China, of which some included China Academy of Art, China Central Academy of Fine Arts, Academy of Arts and Design, Tsinghua University and Nanjing University of the Arts together with public collection of exhibits on new media platforms. After professional assessment and public voting, 30 pieces of young artists’ works were selected to be exhibited at the Hong Kong Joint Exhibition. The five artworks with first-class awards were presented to five Hong Kong families to realize the idea of art integrating with ordinary life and allow the public to touch and enjoy.
