Hong Kong Compatriots Celebrate the 69th Anniversary of the Founding of the People’s Republic of China Press Conference for the National Day Variety Show and Youth Concert

To celebrate the 69th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China, the "National Day variety show " and "National Day Youth Concert" will be held on October 1st and 2nd at the Hong Kong Stadium by the Hong Kong compatriots to celebrate the 69th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China Preparatory Committee (the National Day Preparatory Committee), to celebrate the joy of the National Day with the public.

In the afternoon of September 17, the National Day Preparatory Committee held a press conference to introduce the highlights of the Variety Show and the Youth Concert. The guests attending the press conference included Dr. Lo Man-tuen, Deputy Secretary General of the National Day Preparatory Committee; Mr. Timothy Fok Tsun-ting, Director of the Cultural Performance; Ms. Chu Lien-fan, Director of Publicity; Ms. Candy Ma Siu Hung, Assistant Director of Home Affairs, and Mr. Clifton Ko Chi-sum, Chief Executive Officer and Producer of Spring-Time Stage Productions.

This year’s "National Day Variety Show" will feature a series of performances. The performing groups include People’s Liberation Army Hong Kong Garrison Military Band & Art Troupe and the Army, Navy & Air Force Guard as well as Hong Kong Youth Chinese Orchestra. On October 1st 2018, Dance Drama Hong Kong Limited will transform the national treasure painting "Along the River during the Qingming Festival" into a dance performance.

On October 2nd 2018, the "National Day Youth Concert" will bring together popular singers from the Mainland, Hong Kong and South Korea to perform hit songs and dances, including Mainland idol group BOY STORY, K-pop group BTOB, PENTAGON, CLC and South Korean singer-songwriter Lee Gi-kwang, as well as local singer Kandy Wong and Sammy Sum Chun Hin.

Members of the public can each obtain two free tickets for the "National Day Variety Show" from the Home Affairs Enquiry Centres in Hong Kong starting September 21 (on a first-come), first-served basis. Tickets for the "National Day Youth Concert" are now available for sale over the counter at any of the URBTIX outlets located throughout Hong Kong. In addition, the evening show will be broadcasted by major electronic media organizations. Dim Sum TV will broadcast the "National Day Variety Show" program at 21:00 on October 2nd, and will broadcast the "National Day Youth Concert" program at 10:30 on October 6th, so that all Hong Kong can enjoy the performances from the cultural evening.
