Dim Sum TV Won the TV and Film Award of “Works of Special Supports in Hong Kong and Macao”
Chinese Radio and Television Public Service Advertising Assembly of 2018 Held in Qing Yuan, Guang Dong Province
Chinese Radio and Television Public Service Advertising Assembly was held in Qing Yuan, Guang Dong Province, on 12 December 2018. Co-hosted by the Development Research Center of National Radio and Television Administration and Qing Yuan government, the assembly with the theme of ‘Public Service Advertising, Better and Stronger’, not only selected a number of outstanding public service advertising, but also conducted a discussion concerning the targeted poverty alleviation by radio and TV public service advertising, innovation in production and broadcasting of the public service advertising and the communication about public interest of new audiovisual media. Fan Weiping, member of party leadership and deputy director of the National Radio and Television Administration attended the assembly and made a keynote speech. Guo Feng, secretary of the CPC Qingyuan Municipal Committee, attended the meeting. Huang Xizhong, deputy secretary of the CPC Qingyuan Municipal Committee and mayor of Qingyuan, made a speech. Liu Xiaoyi, director of the publicity department, media management department, International cooperation department and supervision center of National Radio and Television Administration, secretary of the Party Group and director of Radio and Television Administration of Guangdong Province also attended the assembly.
More than 400 guests from national ministries, the central radio and television station, provincial radio and television bureaus and television stations, public service advertising companies, universities and other relevant social institutions attended the conference.
Fan Weiping, member of party leadership and deputy director of the National Radio and Television Administration, indicated that the production and broadcasting time of public service advertisements on radio and television in China had increased 5 times and 6.3 times respectively from 2013 to 2017, and continued to grow in 2018. According to the incomplete statistics, nearly 200,000 public service advertisements on radio and television were produced nationwide, with a total broadcast time of over 33 million minutes from January to November this year. Fan stressed that he hoped that radio and television organizations could fully understand the significance and unique role of the public service advertising, strengthen innovation and excellence of public service advertising, improve the pertinence and accuracy of communication, expand the function and space for communication of public service advertising, as well as integrate the public service advertising into the development of international communication capacity.

Liu Xiaoyi, secretary of the Party Group and director of Radio and Television Administration of Guangdong Province pointed out that Guangdong Radio and Television Public Service Advertising had made positive exploration and remarkable achievements.
The assembly held a signing ceremony for strategic cooperation of property rights trading of public service advertising, signed by Cui Jianjun, member of standing committee of the CPC Qingyuan Municipal Committee and director of publicity department, and Wang Xiaorui, deputy general manager of Shenzhen Culture Assets and Equity Exchange.
Representatives of 10 online audiovisual institutions jointly advocated that all online audiovisual platforms should actively promote and broadcast outstanding works of public service advertising, strengthen the effort on publicity and promotion of public service advertising, improve the internal broadcast system, and form a normal broadcast mechanism.
In the afternoon of the 12th December, the assembly held sub-forums regarding to three topics of the targeted poverty alleviation and innovation in production and broadcasting of public service advertising on radio and TV, as well as the communication about public interest of new audiovisual media. Executives from CCTV, China Dragon TV and Hunan Broadcasting Systm shared their experience in the production of radio and TV public service programs with the participants. Representatives of Youku, iQIYI, Tencent, Sohu and other domestic mainstream audiovisual new media shared innovative idea and offered suggestions for the high-quality development of radio and television public service advertising and the future.
Youku, iQIYI, Tencent, Sohu and other mainstream audiovisual new media representatives were sitting together to discuss the communication of public welfare of new media.
In the evening, the "Bai Lan Cup" of China Public Service Advertising Assembly of collecting outstanding works held a solemn launching ceremony. The event in this year received more than 2,500 works, from which a total of 91 works of radio, television, graphic and new media came to the fore. Among them, the public service advertising ‘Hong Kong Reunification 2017’ produced by Dim Sum TV won the TV and Film Award of “Works of Special Supports in Hong Kong and Macao”.
The judges commented that ‘Hong Kong Reunification 2017’ integrated the street life in Hong Kong into the major events of each year since the handover of Hong Kong to China, to express the gratitude to the heroes of these events for their contributions to the development of Hong Kong and the whole country. With appropriate background music, the work had unique conception, smooth and dynamic pictures and got close to the life in Hong Kong.

The Chinese Radio and Television Public Service Advertising Assembly of 2018 and the National Radio and Television Public Service Advertising Forum are held in Qingyuan, Guangdong Province each year, and have been held three times so far. Compared with last year, the assembly in this year has added "Worldwide Outstanding Public Service Advertising Works Joint Exhibition and Public Service Advertising Works Exhibition of Radio and Television Institutions", bringing together all kinds of excellent public service advertising of the year, and further constructing the exhibiting window of public service advertising of radio and television in the new era, the platform for exchanging ideas and experiences, as well as the channel for business cooperation. It also further enhanced the social benefits of the assembly and economic benefits, by exploring paths of professional development to promote the development of the public service advertising industry. Through exploring "issues +, activities +, platforms +", it aimed at building an upgraded version of Chinese radio and television public service advertising assembly.
