During their meeting, Dim Sum TV’s Director and Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Kit Szeto, said the over-arching aim of Dim Sum TV is to see living, culture and social development at Guangdong, Hong Kong, and Macau as a whole. In the future, he explained, Guangdong, Hong Kong, and Macau may become a future megalopolis, one of the largest in the Asia Pacific region, or even the world. Dim Sum TV, he went on, hopes to play a role in the information exchange between the three areas to help foster this development and create a television brand that appeals to greater Pearl River Delta regional living.

Mrs. Rita Lau was interested in Dim Sum TV’s positioning in the region and expressed support for its future development, adding that the integration of Hong Kong into the Greater Pearl River Delta region is inevitable. She noted that recently Hong Kong and Macau were included in the Framework for the Pearl River Delta Region’s Development and Reform Plan, the first time this has happened. She explained that Hong Kong will greatly benefit from the trend of greater integration, just as all the other cities will. Dim Sum TV’s vision is indeed broad, she noted, and the broadcaster’s aim to cover the whole of the Pearl River Delta Region, and not just Hong Kong, is an ambition worthy of support.
