Mr. Giovanni Chan, Dim Sum TV’s Executive Vice President and Chief Operation Officer, made a presentation on the broadcaster’s market positioning, corporate philosophy and goals, followed by a screening of Dim Sum TV’s showreel as well as footage from the regional media event, “30 Years of Hong Kong-Guangdong Cooperation”. Mr. Chang expressed his appreciation of Dim Sum TV’s Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau regional focus and its unique Greater Pearl River Delta cultural perspective. Of particular interest to him was the broadcaster’s infotainment programming, which he said was bound to resonate with a wide, receptive audience.

Mr. Chang also pointed out that the Outline of the Plan for the Reform and Development of the Pearl River Delta introduced by the Central Government in early 2009 was a mandate for the different areas of the Greater Pearl River Delta to develop their competitive advantages in a complementary manner. The plan is a clear indication that the cultural, social as well as economic integration between Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macau has now been placed on the national policy agenda. In addition to engaging in an ongoing dialogue with various provincial and municipal administrations, the Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office in Guangdong will also seek to foster a deeper understanding between Hong Kong and various provinces, including Fujian, Ganxi, Guangdong, Guangxi and Hainan. To that end, the office will be making the integration between Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macau its primary focus. Mr. Chang also hoped that his office and Dim Sum TV would develop a mutually supportive relationship through stronger, multi-tiered collaboration in the future.
