Dim Sum TV supports the “Hong Kong Youth Alliance for
the 60th National Day Celebrations” as Media Partner

Endorsed by the Liaison Office of The Central People’s Government in The Hong Kong SAR, the State Ethnic Affairs Commission, and the Hong Kong SAR Government, over 200 youth organizations in Hong Kong came together to form the “Hong Kong Youth Alliance for the 60th National Day Celebrations” committee, and, in an inaugural ceremony on May 3, raised the curtains on a series of events marking National Day. The ceremony was attended by Mr. Kit Szeto, Director & Chief Executive Officer of Dim Sum TV, one of the media partners of the celebrations.

Officiating at the inaugural ceremony on May 3 were the Deputy Director of the Liaison Office of the Central People´s Government in HKSAR, Mr. Li Gang; the Secretary for Home Affairs of the HKSAR Government, Mr. Tsang Tak-sing; the Director of the International Affairs Department, State Ethnic Affairs Commission, Mr. Wang Quan-li, and Vice President of the All-China Youth Federation, Mr. Shen Changyu. The song “My Country”, a tribute to modern China on its 60th anniversary, was adopted as the theme song of the ceremony, and was given a rousing rendition by Jackie Chan, mainland performing artist Liu Huan Huan and a choir of youth representatives.

The inaugural ceremony on May 3 was also the occasion of the Ethnic Cultural Carnival of the “Hong Kong Youth Alliance for the 60th National Day Celebrations”. More than 400 performers representing China’s ethnic minorities from over 10 regions and provinces, including Xinjiang, Ningxia, Mongolia, Guizhou, Sichuan, Jilin, Fujian, Guangxi, Yunan and Tibet, entertained the 5,000 spectators at the ceremony with a varied programme of performances, including foot drills, singing, dancing and traditional sports.

The inaugural ceremony of the “Hong Kong Youth Alliance for the 60th National Day Celebrations” was aired on Dim Sum TV from 19:00 to 21:00 on May 24.
