Dim Sum TV supports the Exhibition in Commemoration of the Centennial Anniversary of the 1911 Revolution
The opening ceremony for the Exhibition in Commemoration of the Centennial Anniversary of the 1911 Revolution was held in Hong Kong on December 15. Featuring over 200 exhibits, including rare photographs, manuscripts and calligraphy by Dr. Sun Yat Sen, Wu Ting Fang, Yu You Ren and others, the event highlights the immense historical legacy of the revolution's leaders and brings their inspiring patriotic vision into sharp focus for a new generation. As the representative of one of the supporting media, Mr. Kit Szeto, Director & CEO of Dim Sum TV, attended the opening ceremony.
Other guests at the ceremony included Mr. Tung Chee Hwa, Vice-Chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference; Mr. Donald Tsang, Chief Executive of the HKSAR; Mr. Peng Qinghua, Director of the Liaison Office of the Central People's Government in HKSAR; Mr. Lu Xinhua, Commissioner of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the People's Republic of China in HKSAR; Major General Zhang Shibo, Commander of the People's Liberation Army Hong Kong Garrison and Major General Wang Zengbo, Political Commissar of the People's Liberation Army Hong Kong Garrison.

Dr. Sun Yat Sen, the Father of New China, developed many of his seminal revolutionary ideas while living and studying in Hong Kong. The 4-day exhibition was the culmination of almost one year of preparation and planning by 15 joint organizers in Hong Kong, supported by 68 other organizations.
The exhibition attracts a large turnout on the opening day.

October 10, 2010 is the centennial anniversary of the 1911 Revolution, which overthrew the Qing dynasty and ended more than 2,000 years of absolute monarchy in China. The exhibition raised the curtain on a special Hong Kong Series of commemorative activities, and chronicled extensively one of the pivotal events in modern Chinese history, including the historical background of the 1911 Revolution, revolutionary philosophy and organization, popular support, the establishment of the Nationalist government, the abdication of the Qing emperor, and the ushering in of a new era for the Chinese nation.

After attending the event, Ms. Elsie Leung, Deputy Director of the HKSAR Basic Law Committee of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress, said that the exhibition was very comprehensive and meaningful. She hoped that more young people would develop an interest in educational exhibitions like this and learn about the true historical significance of the 1911 Revolution.
