To facilitate the start of the National 12th Five-Year Plan this year, the Central Government has made important adjustments to the national development strategy based on a new international political and economic reality. This astute strategic leadership, with the whole-hearted support of the Chinese people, represents another major step forward in the ongoing effort to achieve general affluence for the country.
Dr. Choi expressed his gratitude to the Central Government for its unstinting support for Hong Kong, as well as his appreciation of the combined effort of the Hong Kong SAR Government and community in successful implementation of the One Country, Two Systems principle, providing a broader economic horizon for Hong Kong.
Dr. Choi stressed that the CGCC has always been a stalwart supporter of China’s national development and policies for maintaining Hong Kong’s stability and prosperity. In the future, the CGCC will continue to embody the spirit of “Promoting Hong Kong, Building the Motherland, and Reaching Out to the World” by acting as a forum and a conduit for local business interests, and by exploring further business opportunities in the Mainland and surrounding areas for its members.
